Game 5: Detroit 1968 is Now Available!
Game 5 is my two-part novel that tells the story of how 12 people from diverse backgrounds come together to attend Game 5 of the epic 1968 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals at Tiger Stadium. Game 5, Part One: Sense of the Sacred, and Part Two: Reconciliation, are available on Amazon.

Thanks for the post!
I am a baseball lover. And also a 1960s aficionado. So I eagerly look forward to reading the whole of your story from your creative mind.
Your book contains the subject matter of the two things I recall all so well from that time; Denny McLain and the Tigers and the racial unrest.
I have a TV guide collection that goes back to the ’60s and I recently pulled out the one from the first week of October 1968. Wow, what a year – the highs were high and the lows pretty low.
Whenever I tell people I have a TV guide collection – they make uncomplimentary Seinfeld references. If you want the TV guide from that week of game 5 (1968) I can just give it to you no charge it’s not doing me any good.
I’m only three years older than you so our times and experiences must be, to some small degree, parallel.
There is a book company called Storyworth (out of Philadelphia) and their concept was pitched once on a television commercial I recently saw.
They do self publishing of biographies. My older sister thought it might be a good idea for me to write my reflections and remembrances of my childhood and adulthood. It turned out I wrote around 750 pages (took a year) and then the publishing company said the maximum page count I could write in 1 volume was 480.
Thus, I have a part one and a part two.
Was wondering if with “Game Five” you might have experienced something similar as these works are self-published. It sure is different if you’re J.K. Rowling who probably has no ceiling on the page count.
I recall 1968 as a groovy, psychedelic and hallucinogenic year, ha ha.
Some say, if you remember it you didn’t live it. Personally, I stayed away from substance abuse.
It made for some interesting music though. The 60s decade was the soundtrack of my early life; mostly the aftermath of the British Invasion, but some before.
What’s the process to go about purchasing a copy? Is it on Amazon like your other book?
Must have this! It sounds amazing. When is it coming out and who will be selling it?
A devoted fan, Jane
